Students at UT Austin say that accessing mental health counseling at the university has become increasingly difficult, with wait times lasting several weeks and limited access to counseling sessions due to a shortage of funding and staffing. The pandemic has taken a serious toll on the mental health of young people, who are struggling to keep up with their studies and social lives virtually. Students say they are working closely with the Counseling and Mental Health Center at UT Austin to direct more funding towards mental health services. "CMHC is doing the best they can with the resources that they're given," said Brandon Bradley, a senior at UT Austin. "Students organizing are working hand in hand with the CMHC. We're by no means rallying against them or anything like that."
